One idea to try this month
Creating “All about me” boxes with the kids is a wonderful way to connect as a family and get to know each other better.
To get started, invite the kids to create their “All about me” boxes. Then, plan a family sharing time when every family member will share the items they chose and why they chose them.

You will need:
- empty shoe boxes (or any other boxes or containers you have at home)
- white paper
- stickers, colored pencils, markers, colored paper (and any other supplies you want to use to decorate the box)
- glue.
Add a white piece of paper on top of the box and the inside of the lid. Invite the kids to decorate the lid and the box using drawing supplies, colored paper, stickers, and other craft supplies.
After the kids finish decorating their boxes, invite them to fill them in with items that represent them and their interests (books, small toys, drawings, photos, things related to their hobbies).
Plan a family sharing time and invite all family members to take turns sharing the items they chose and why they chose them. (Adults will participate as well by bringing a few items that represent them even if they don’t have a box.)
Encourage kids to share short stories about the items in their boxes to get to know more about their interests.
After this activity, invite the kids to keep the box in their room and use it to store items that are important to them. It is always nice to see what “little treasures” the kids choose to keep in their boxes.
