Play space idea
Setting up a tinker space is a great way to encourage kids to get creative and come up with new invention ideas throughout the month. To get started, find a table or a shelf where you can set up the materials so the kids can easily access them.
You can also prepare a few supplies on a small table and add a box with recycled materials under the table for the kids to access anytime they need.

You can prepare the card creation station at the beginning of the month and let the kids enjoy it for 1-2 weeks.
Use colorful supplies to spark their curiosity, and encourage the kids to come up with creative designs for their cards.
What to include in your tinker space
When creating a tinker space for kids, you can use many recycled materials and craft supplies you already have at home.
Here is a list of things you can include:
- empty egg cartons
- paper rolls, paper cups
- cardboard peices
- pom poms, craft sticks, mini clothespins
- straws, wooden blocks, stickers
- loose parts like screws, bolts, wooden pieces
- yarn, ruler, notebook, glue, scissors
- (optional) books for inspiration.
You don’t need to include all these supplies. Just a few of them are enough to make this activity fun and engaging for your kids.
To give the kids some ideas to help them get started, you can create a list of things they could make using the materials in the tinker space (e.g, a robot, a race car, a spaceship control panel).
