Materials
- colored paper
- watercolor paint
- (watercolor) paint
- sharpie marker
- scissors
- glue
Instructions
- The thank you sun is a lovely craft the kids can prepare to show gratitude to someone in their lives.
- Cut a circle and some strips out of (watercolor) paper and invite the kids to paint them using light colors (so they can add the writing to them later).
- Once the paint dries, invite the kids to decide who will be the recipient of their gift (e.g, a teacher, a family member, a friend, etc) and write the thank you message on the circle.
- Then, invite the kids to come up with nice things about the person they chose and write them on the strips of paper. Leave some space on the side to be able to glue the strips in the next step.
- Place the circle in the middle of the colored paper, trace its shape, then remove it. Glue the strips with messages all around the traced circle, so they look like sun rays.
- After all the strips are glued, add the circle on top and glue it.
